    Prof. Ingolf Turban

Soloist in the Berlin and Munich philharmonic orchestra, in the Kennedy Centre in Washington, in the New York Avery Fisher Hall, in the Zurich Tonhalle, in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Music Association and in La Scala in Milan, with conductors such as Sergiu Celibidache, Charles Dutoit, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Yehudi Menuhin, Jun Märkl and Marcello Viotti, he has introduced to the world not only the great violin works, but a repertoire of pieces partly never heard before.
His performances of Niccolò Paganini are widely acclaimed, for example that in March 2006 with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, together with the complete recording of the 6th violin concerto (Telos Records) and in the television documentary “Paganinis Secret” (merkur TV, 2006).
His comprehensive repertoire of all styles is documented on over 40 CDs. Once highly regarded debut recordings, many works have now been incorporated into the established concerts.
In 2005 he established the chamber orchestra “I Virtuosi di Paganini”.
In 2006, after teaching for 11 years at the Stuttgart School of Music and Performing Arts, Ingolf Turban moved to the Munich School of Music and Theatre.
Since 2007 he has been musical director at the summer festival “Holzhauser Musiktage” at Lake Starnberg.
